Edwardsville Neighbors in Need
In 2009, Chad and Kathie Opel, along with their family organized the first annual Taste of Edwardsville as a standalone fundraiser benefiting the Greg Seibert Foundation after Chad’s own stepfather suffered a spinal stroke. After witnessing the event’s success, outpouring of generosity by the Edwardsville community and the difference it made for Chad’s own family, they were inspired and committed to make this an ongoing community effort — with the goal of helping other families in similar times of crisis. By 2010, Edwardsville Neighbors in Need was established as a certified 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Today, we work diligently to promote our services in the community and actively seek and accept nominations for families facing medical hardship within District 7. All fundraising events, community efforts, nomination and awards of assistance are overseen, reviewed and decided by an acting Board of Directors.

Faith Coalition Edwardsville
The Faith Coalition is a Christian organization united in love and truth. Our mission is to be Christ’s hands and feet in our local community and beyond. Faith Coalition started in 2011, after Joe & Greg met on a mission trip to Joplin, Mo, where they were cleaning up & repairing damage from the devastating tornado in that town. They were impressed by the spontaneous outpouring of support for people in need, & wondered what could be achieved if Christians organized and prepared throughout the year to address disasters like this one, AND to serve ongoing local needs in our communities. And so, Faith Coalition was born. The goal is for our area community of churches, united through Christ, to be ‘one body with many members’, in selected common missions.
