We
have a youth martial arts program specifically designed
for children. These classes are designed to excite
and motivate the student, while at the same time introducing
them to a variety of martial arts training methods,
techniques, and courtesy. The emphasis in the youth
classes is towards social development, coordination,
improvement in academic and scholastic development,
self-esteem, integration within a family unit, and
of course self-defense. Instructors: Dean Harris,
Nathan Balakrishnan, Rob Anderson, and Shaun Moats.
All Martial Arts classes take place at the Esic
Center.

Pee Wee Karate Class Prerequisite: New Students/White
Belt
Developed especially for young children, the Pee
Wee Karate program is designed to improve children's
motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention
and follow directions. In addition, this class offers
children a strong foundation in essential character
qualities such as courtesy, respect, patience, and
discipline.

Karate Class 1 Prerequisite: New Students/White
Belt
First time martial arts students entering a new
world - one that not only has new rules, new goals,
and even new clothing - but that also offers them
lots of new opportunities for fun and accomplishment.
Concentration in this class is on attention span,
improving motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.

Karate Class 2 Prerequisite: Orange Belt
Classes focus on teaching the students to be at
their best, even in the worst of times. They learn
to stand-up for themselves and stay in control of
their mind and body in the face of any situation.
Focal point will be on flexibility, agility, and coordination.

This class strives to instill personal discipline,
focus, fitness, and self-defense. A fundamental understanding
of blocking, punching, striking, and kicking techniques

This class builds a strong foundation in self-esteem
and self-confidence. Includes basic karate essentials,
forms, self-defense techniques, conflict resolution

As an intermediate student of karate one will
further refine good basic techniques, through the
development of form, powers and speed. New techniques

As a beginning student of karate, one will spend
the first few sessions learning the basic techniques
of karate. This training will provide the fundamental

will be achieved. Center of attention for this class
is on focus, balance, and flexibility.

Karate Class (for Adults) Prerequisite: Brown
& Black Belts
Center of attention at the advanced level of karate
is on perfecting basic knowledge and understanding
of kata (forms), khion (basics), and kumite (sparring).
Focus for this class is on dynamic breathing, inner
calm, and internal/external body energy.

Belt Training (for Adults) Prerequisite: Instructors

For those individuals aspiring to become a black
belt, this program is designed to take students to
1st degree black belt. Training is offered to students
who have shown a serious commitment and demonstrated
