$5; Harness Rental $2. Monthly pass allows participant
unlimited climbs during normal open climbing
hours.
Monthly Pass
(includes harness rental): Members $25; Nonmembers
$42.
Solo
Climber Punch Card: Climbers who
are unable to provide their own belayers are
required to purchase a Solo Climber Punch Card.
The punch card enables the climber to receive
6 belays from a YMCA Climbing Tower Staff member.
You do not have to use all 6 belays in one session,
and you do not have to pay any further fees
(including climbing fee or harness rental) the
next time you come in to climb until all 6 punches
on your card have been used up. Solo Climber
Punch Card: Members $2 (with harness rental);
Nonmembers $4 (with harness rental).
Important
Information on Belaying: In climbing,
belaying is the technique of passing the rope
through a belay device as the climber ascends
the tower. The belayer controls the rope so
that the climber, if he/she falls, does not
fall very far. Learning to belay properly is
a critical part of climbing safety. It also
provides a great bonding opportunity between
climbers and their belayers - fostering trust
and communication. Belayers must be a minimum
of 16 years of age. If you meet the minimum
belay age requirement, we will be happy to teach
you how to belay anytime during open hours.
Because of the high volume of climbers we sometimes
experience, your waiting time to climb is significantly
lowered by providing your own belayer, whomever
it is - mom, dad, sibling, friend, etc. If you
do bring your own belayer/climbing partner,
you also may bypass the line of climbers waiting
for the YMCA Climbing Tower staff to belay for
them. If you are here to belay for your child/children,
there will be no charge for parent.
