Participation in the ARTS areas provides a means to develop imagination, critical thinking skills, comprehension, perception, communication, and social skills. The ARTS also fosters a better understanding of ourselves, other cultures, and our communities. In fact, young people who participate in the ARTS are more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and be more open and tolerant. WELCOME TO OUR PROGRAM - come explore and foster your mind and soul with us! Some classes may have additional materials fees or information, so please read carefully and dress appropriately for class!

YOUTH ART AND COOKING CLASSES (Summer 1 Only)

Art Wonders (ages 2-3)
Class for parent and child to explore different mediums together (and we will clean up!). Get a jump start on those preschool skills! Thursday, 9:30am-10:00am at the Esic Center. Members $15; Nonmembers $30; Materials Fee $6.

Art Starts (ages 3-5)
Art fun for preschoolers and great preparation for Kindergarten. Painting, crafts, fun and more! Love art but hate the mess? Leave it to us! NEW crafts each session! (1) Age 3 - Thursday, 10:15am-11:00am at the Esic Center; (2) Age 4-5 - Thursday, 11:15am-12:00pm at the Esic Center.

Crafty Kids (ages 6-8)
MUST have completed Kindergarten to begin this class. Kites, summer craft fun and medium exploration. Thursday, 12:15pm-1:15pm at the Esic Center. Members $25; Nonmembers $40; Materials Fee $6.

Science Mania! (ages 4-10)
Hands on science for kids that can't get enough of fun experiments! Dress to get messy! (1) Ages 4-6 - Tuesday, 5:30pm-6:15pm at the Esic Center; (2) Ages 7-10 - Tuesday, 6:30pm-7:15pm at the Esic Center. Members $25; Nonmembers $40; Materials Fee $8.

Kids Cook Too! (ages 4-11)
Come and try new and fun goodies with us! Chop, mix, knead, and more with food safety skills taught in each step. Recipes will be sent home at end of workshop. Different recipes each session. Esic Center. (1) Ages 4-5 - Thursday, 4:30pm-5:15pm; (2) Ages 6-8 - Thursday, 5:30pm-6:15pm; (3) Ages 9-11 - Thursday, 6:30pm-7:15pm. Members $25; Nonmembers $40; Material Fee $10.

YOUTH THEATER (Summer 1 Only)

Pee Wee Players (ages 4 & 5)
Basic acting principles taught through games, puppets, props, and story themes. Bring your imagination and act and re-act with us! Class will conclude with in-class performance. Monday, 12:00pm-12:50pm at the Esic Center. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.

Let's Play Make Believe (age 3)
You can be anything you want to be! A teacher, a doctor, a construction worker, and more! Every week we will explore a new job. Have fun acting, playing, and crafting with us! Wednesday, 9:30am-10:15am at the Esic Center. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.

Fencing (ages 8-adult)
Ever wonder how they produce such intense sword play scenes in the movies? Our man Evan will show you how! This nationally ranked instructor will teach you the basics of sword play and demonstrate the art of this unique sport. Come and learn from and expert and you too may find a new appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes. Meyer Center. (1) Ages 8-10 - Tuesday, 5:30pm-6:20pm; (2) Ages 11-14 - Tuesday, 6:30pm-7:20pm; (3) Ages 15-18 - Tuesday, 7:30pm-8:20pm. (4) Adult - Tuesday, 8:30pm-9:20pm. Members $50; Nonmembers $70.

YOUTH MUSIC OFFERINGS (Summer 1 Only)

Music Makers (ages 3-5)
Music is great for brain development and fun for kids! New class focuses on rhythm instruments, tempos, timing, movement and song! Esic Center. Wednesday, 10:30am-11:15am. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.

Introduction to Keyboarding Basics (ages 6-9)
Learn the basics of playing piano keyboard with us! Beginning note reading, tempo and timing will be taught as well. MUST have completed Kindergarten. This is a group class with limited openings. Register early to reserve your space! Note: Keyboard will be provided for use during the class time. Esic Center. Wednesday, 11:30am-12:20pm. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.

Guitar Basics (ages 7-Adult)
For brand-new guitar enthusiasts! Learn how to tune, beginning sight reading, simple chording, and fingering in this group class. Great way to get your fingers moving in this group class. Must bring your own instrument and guitar pick. Space is limited. Meyer Center. (1) Ages 7-10 - Wednesday, 6:30pm-7:20pm; (2) Ages 11-16 - Wednesday, 7:30pm-8:20pm; (3) Adults - Wednesday, 8:30pm-9:20pm. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE (Summer 1 Only)

Spanish (grades K-5)
Explore a new world with these Spanish classes taught at a basic level. Enjoy songs, games, crafts, and stories to help your child learn this useful and artistic language! Meyer Center. (1) Grades K-2 - Thursday, 5:30pm-6:20pm; (2) Grades 3-5 - Thursday, 6:30pm-7:20pm. Members $25; Nonmembers $40.
