The role of St. Mary's School Board is advisory in matters pertaining to all policies such as educational programs, disciplinary policies, extra-curricular policies, and facilities of the parish school. The purpose of the Board is to advise the pastor in the establishment of policy relative to the parish school and to advise the principal in the implementation of that policy.

The Board will meet monthly on a day to be designated at the first Board meeting of that year. The pastor or the president may call special meetings. School Board meeting minutes from the previous month are on display outside the school office.

All meetings of the Board shall be open. The right of non-members to address the Board in the case of individual concerns relating to personnel shall be limited to those who have notified a Board member, the pastor, or the principal one week before the Board meeting. A non-member must state the concern and give the reason for wanting to address the board. The non-member must also state that the appeal process of meeting with the teacher, principal, coach, athletic director, and pastor has not resulted in an acceptable solution to the problem. If the petition to address the Board is not granted, the Executive Committee must document the petition and forward to the petitioner the reason why the petition was excluded from the meeting.
