JSC
helps meet the needs of one or more families in the community
through donations at holidays, birthdays, and other special
events. |
| Done-in-a-Day |
Smaller
projects that can be planned and completed by JSC in a day
or so. (For example, blood drives, soup lines, backpacks for
schools, etc.). |
| Quarterly
Collections |
JSC's
special way of collecting specific items that pre-determined
charities need in our community. (For example, in the past
we've worked with Anderson Hospital, the Metro East Humane
Society, and Books in Every Home). |
| Elderly
Care |
Special
events (crafts, games, bingo) are planned and carried out
by JSC members at our area nursing homes and assisted living
centers. |
| New
Mothers' Baskets |
JSC
puts together packages of diapers, bath products, books and
layette items for young (high-school-age) mothers in need
of support and education. |
| Adopt-a-Highway |
JSC
has a 2-mile stretch of highway from the QT and past the YMCA
Meyer Center. In the warmer months, the committee volunteers
to pick up trash and clean up the roadside. |
| Meals-on-Wheels |
Giving
the regular drivers a break around the holidays, JSC members
deliver hot meals to shut-ins throughout the month of December. |
| Community
Enrichment Award |
With
this annual award, JSC strives to recognize the outstanding
community involvement and service that the citizens of our
area achieve. |

Projects
